About the data
DingDongWork republishes public licensing records from 15 US state agencies so anyone can check, in one place, whether a business or contractor holds an active state license.
Where the records come from
Each state publishes its license files (license holders, license types, numbers, status, issue and expiration dates, and the address on record). We load those files as published and keep the state's own status wording.
- Alaska: Alaska Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing
- Arizona: Arizona Registrar of Contractors
- California: California Contractors State License Board
- Colorado: Colorado Division of Professions and Occupations
- Connecticut: Connecticut eLicense
- Florida: Florida DBPR
- Illinois: Illinois IDFPR
- Iowa: Iowa Professional Licensing
- Minnesota: Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry
- New Jersey: New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs
- New York: New York Department of State
- Ohio: Ohio eLicense
- Oregon: Oregon Construction Contractors Board
- Texas: Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
- Washington: Washington Department of Labor & Industries
What is listed
Business profiles are listed and indexed when the business holds an active license and the state published its city and an address or phone number. Licenses held by individuals (for example nursing, real-estate or cosmetology licenses) can be looked up for verification but are not listed in our directory pages.
How current it is
Every profile shows the date its state's records were loaded. A license can be renewed, suspended or expire after that date, so always confirm on the issuing agency's lookup before signing a contract.
Corrections
We do not edit state records. If your license information is wrong, ask the issuing agency to correct it; the change appears here at the next update. For anything else, contact us.
